History of Teriyaki
Originated in Japan it was originally used to preserve and enhance flavor of fish. Emerging in Hawaii in the 1880s. Eventually evolved to include Chicken and Beef around the early 1900's.
In the 1970s Teriyaki spread throughout the Seattle Washington area. It's since spread throughout the United States. We coined the term American Teriyaki. The United States has been a melting pot. Our Teriyaki recipe reflects that. We have blended some our favorite flavors into our sauces for a unique bold version or Teriyaki.

We have taken the traditional method and ingredients and created some new recipes rooted in our Mexican and Southwest heritage and created a new Teriyaki experience. At Speakeasy BBQ you will enjoy our freshly cooked, home style food, and teriyaki fusion experience.

Speakeasy BBQ
We started our journey during the Covid-19 Pandemic. After He became unemployed, the founder Jared Vieyra began selling BBQ off the back porch of the house. Less than two miles away from their current location they became a real barbecue speakeasy, unlicensed, unpermitted and in an undisclosed location. Speakeasy BBQ started out by serving up smoked meats. In 2024 it was decided to shift to a more affordable, healthier, grab and go menu. This was a shift back to Jared roots. Fresh grilled meats with unique fusion flavors blended both Asian flare and his Hispanic and Southwest culture. The menu has changed but we stay true to the commitment to hearty portions of real food made fresh and our focus on creating a comfortable casual family atmosphere
